Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Meets with Military Personnel in the Vicinity of Conflict-Stricken Pokrovsk Front
The head of state made a trip to speak to national troops in the eastern front on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he consulted fighters at the command post of the initial brigade of the state defense force Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya zone, a location approximately a short distance from the focal point.

Recent mapping from a local initiative revealed that opposition armies had advanced deeper into Pokrovsk and its environs, though a large portion lacked clear dominance by any party. The conditions are severe, with reports indicating that opposition troops were establishing defenses and building up positions in various sectors.

Moscow's Military Policy Changes
Russian military reservists will now have to secure petroleum plants against aerial attacks after Vladimir Putin enacted a decree on Tuesday increasing their involvement in the military campaign. The head of state also signed a law permitting draft enrollment continuously whereas previously it was possible only during specific times in fall and spring. Moscow legally bars draftees from being sent to battle, but after their armed forces duty they become part of the backup units, placing them in danger of being assigned to combat zones.
Significant armed forces costs have also started to stress the federal treasury, with the government increasing levies to cover increasing gaps.
Zelenskyy's Appeals for Global Assistance
Zelenskyy appealed to Washington to stay receptive to delivering to the nation with far-reaching military equipment. Appealing to European leaders from the Pokrovsk area, the national leader also requested more western sanctions on Russia – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU before 2030.

The Russian embassy in Rome later posted condolences for the passing of a Romanian worker in the accident but seized the moment to complain that the critical reaction to the comments was prejudiced toward the federation.
