AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret sect.
The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally featured a quest that obviously nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
